With parties and gatherings FINALLY back in full force, we're all trying to remember what we used to bring to parties or we're searching for new and interesting ideas. If you're looking for a dessert recipe, you've found it. I love a good brownie or cookie, but Funetti dip is something a little different that always gets people talking (and coming back for more!)
This recipe is 3 things everyone loves: Easy. Dessert. Dip. That pretty much encapsulates why this recipe is so great and why everyone loves it. Dips are the go-to party food because they are so easy to share, but desserts are often left off the dip train. Not anymore! Funfetti dip is 3 ingredients plus your chosen dip vehicle (Nilla Wafers, animal crackers, fruit, etc.) so it comes together in a hurry and is ready for all your party needs.
This recipe was shared with me probably a decade ago (maybe more?) so I can't take credit for it, but it sure is a crowd pleaser. Everyone loves funfetti (and how could you not? FUN is built into the name) and this dip always brings a smile to faces at a party.
A couple of notes: 1.) Because it has cool whip in it, it doesn't do well sitting out with warm weather for too long, so keep this as an inside treat. 2.) They make GLUTEN FREE funfetti now, so you can easily make this gluten free. Serve with gluten free cookies or graham crackers OR it goes really well with fruit (strawberries, raspberries, grapes, etc.) 3.) It makes a ton of dip. It's great for a big party, kids' sleepover, potluck, and so on. 4.) It has yogurt in it, so it's basically healthy.
Make this for your next party and I know your guests will be smiling ear to ear with contentment!

*Recipe notes + Variations*
*Everytime I've made this, I use the light Cool Whip and it's perfect. It's an easy spot to cut some fat :)
**Greek yogurt would be way too sour and thick. Make sure to find regular, plain yogurt. Vanilla flavored would make this too sweet I think, but if it's all you can find, try to use one with the least amount of sugar in it.
***If you want to make your funfetti dip specific colors, buy a regular box of white cake mix and add your own sprinkles. The photos for this dip I used 1 container of red and blue mixed sprinkles. You can add more or less to your preference. Definitely use the long sprinkles and not the little balls or the sparkly (sugar) kind because it won't turn out right.
To make this gluten free, simply use gluten free funfetti cake mix and serve with gluten friendly dippers.
